  • Strawberry Roots & Bundles - San Andreas Strawberry Roots & Bundles - San Andreas Open in new tab NOW only $0.99

Strawberry Roots & Bundles - San Andreas

Quick Overview This Monterey varety is the old-time favorite.  It is an ever-bearing variety that has a spring and fall crop. Large plants make few runners and large, wedge shaped, firm berries. Excellent for fresh eating and dessert.   IMPORTANT:  Once they arrive, remoisten the roots. You'll do this by rinsing and dumping all of the water from the bag several times. Once you've done that, leave a small amount of water inside and then place the whole bag (and the contents) inside of a windowsill. Rinse and drain your bare roots at least once a day until new green growth appears and you're ready to plant outdoors.    These are bare root strawberries. Plant these in the spring; in a place that gets full sun. They do best if you plant immediately after receiving them. Space plants 18" apart in rows 3' apart. These can also be planted in pots. Before planting, soak the roots for 2 hours to re-hydrate the plant. Plant with root side down and dig deep enough so the root is stretched downward; you do not want the root to be balled up. Big Rainbow Tomato (100% Heirloom/Non-Hybrid/Non-GMO) The Big Rainbow is a variety that produces HUGE fruits that can weight over 2 pounds! -  Delicious heirloom tomato flavor and texture. -  Indeterminate. -  Extremely popular. -  All-American favorite. Day to Maturity | 80-90 days 12-Month Planting Calendar   Jan Feb Mar Apr May Jun Jul Aug Sept Oct Nov Dec Plant it (Sow) ☉ ☉ ☉ ☉ ☉ Eat it (Harvest) ☉ ☉ ☉ ☉ ☉ How to Grow Tomatoes from Seed #1. Tomatoes are very easy to grow from seed. You should start you seeds indoors using seed starting pellets. Keep the soil warm and dark until the seedlings appear. Put them on top of your refrigerator to keep them warm. It's important to note that light/sun isn't crucial until the seedlings have popped out of the soil. They usually poke their heads out of the soil in about 7-10 days. #2. As soon as the tomato sprouts appear, move the plants to a brighter yet cooler location. This is where they'll need the light to continue growing nicely. The best time to grow tomato seedlings is at about 70ºF during the day and no lower than 40ºF at night. This promotes strong root development. #3. As your tomatoes continue to grow (4" tall), transplant them to larger pots. Bury them a bit lower into the soil than you would most other vegetables. #4. About 2-weeks before you plan to transplant them into the garden, you should begin 'hardening' the plants a.k.a. getting them used to living outside and away from adult supervision.  Move the pots outside in the shade during the day and then bring them back inside at night. This is the easiest way to get them to thrive and adapt to their current growing conditions. This is a VERY IMPORTANT step. You should always 'harden' tomato plants before transplanting them into the garden. This even needs to be done with Tomato plants you would have payed for at a local nursery.   Follow SeedsNow.com's board Tomatoes on Pinterest.

Wildflowers - Blues Brothers Seed Mix

Plant this mix to grow some of the most beautiful blue-colored flowers you've ever seen!  Wildflower establishment requires some important steps: - Site selection/preparation: It's important to address competition from weeds: pull, till, or use organic herbicides. If planting in the spring/summer you can wait for weeds to germinate, control and then plant the wildflower seeds. - Seeding:  You will want to have good seed to soil contact, broadcasting by hand is a good approach on small plot, may want to mix with an inert carrier, sand or other. Raking in and covering with soil 2-3 times seed thickness. - Watering: During establishment for the first month, can be from rain in spring or supplement with irrigation. - Timing: The best time to plant is in spring to early summer and even again in late fall.
